I guess things sort of balance out, don't they.

No matter what culture indicates, PowerBooks and Starbucks are *not* happy together:

Additionally, the PB (12" in my case) is an enormous pain in the ass to get into. The SuperDrive---which I had to remove to manually rescue our wedding DVD---is pretty much the very last thing you take out of your PB. After the hard drive, main board, and even the metal support frame.

But I *did* rescue the DVD. This makes me miss the manual eject hole of the PC world...

The bright side is that this may be the excuse I need to go out and buy one of the new 17" MacBook Pros! love

And they say the PowerBook is easier to get into than an iBook. I've taken apart an iBook and felt pretty much the same way... the logic board, harddrive are on the bottom of the machine, layered so perfectly that one slip up snaps the speaker wire. I cracked the aluminum frame while I was fiddling around.

Luckily I was able to convince Apple it was their faulty Logic Board and they were nice enough (after trying to repair the ol' G3 iBook twice) to swap it out for a brand new G4.

And I've never been to a Starbucks... now I plan never to. Here's to dreams of MacBook Pros!
