Sitting here figuring out my taxes......and does it suck! Nobody sees that part of a business. Its always your job must be so cool.blah..blah..blah. What about the hundreds of receipts you have to keep in order,everything has to match up or Uncle Sam gets pissed! Now I am going to write a check to the United States Treasury for estimated taxes, thats what I think I will owe, in 15 years I always overpay.
Then I need to write a check to the State Of New Mexico for gross receipts,thats the tax you collect on top of the payment.If you dont keep that part separated and saved your fucked. After that I gotta box my studio strobe up and send it to be repaired,probably around $150-$200.
Owning a business is hard sometimes but well worth it! I have to write another check to the Yellow Book for an ad. That ad paid for itself the day it came out. Without marketing a business will not survive and luckly most of my business is referrals so I dont sweat it that much like when I was starting out.
Had a high school girl call today about senior pictures,while I was talking to her on the phone an alarm went off when I asked her if it was a car alarm she said ...no its my boyfriends ankle braclet......humm might have to turn down this gig!
I get alot of phone calls during the day,book alot of work but I know some calls are my competition checking my prices.
I am going to start pageant season with headshots and such in the next day or so. Theres a shitload of money to be made in pageant headshots,in Houston and New York the photographers make up to $1000 per girl.
Shit I need to go to the clubs tonight and recruit again, I will get there about 11 pm and hopefully find the models people need!
