Well, I'm going to be attending my farewell party tonight.
Not sure what all is planned, but I hope there's not as much drinking involved as there has been in the past week (plus).
I have to say that I will miss Korea. I've made a lot of good friends here, I've gotten the opportunity to see a beautiful country, and I've been graced with the chance to see the world through the eyes of yet another culture.
That having been said, I will not miss living in a 12ft by 12ft room every night of yet another year. If I were allowed to get my own apartment here I would strongly reconsider, but as things stand I should be gone in a little more than two weeks. Too bad.
For the next few weeks, I probably won't be on the site too often. After my departure I'll be going to Greece for a month to see the family and lie to them about why they won't be able to talk to me for yet another six months. After that, I get to decide whether I want to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. As always, I suppose it'll be wherever most of my friends go. Amigos stick together after all.
It's kind of troubling, dragging all my gear out of my locker once more. Checking hooks, clips, d-rings, pads, armor, etc. A very large part of me wished I'd never have to drag this shit out again. Heh.
Oh well. There's nothing to be said about it that can change how things will play out in the next couple of months. I'll treat this like every other voyage of my life, but I'll try to get more pictures this time.
