Wow, the sun is brilliant today! A cool breeze, the smell of pine, I think I'll sit on the balcony a while and polish my guitars and my bass while I toss back a few bottles of the poor man's ambrosia. It's the type of weather that makes me want to slip my pack on my back, sling a guitar over my shoulder, lace up the boots and hit the road. Must enjoy these days, as I'm sure they'll be few and far between in the near future.

I had a job interview with the Beaverton School District this week. My stipend that PSU gives me insn't close to being enough to live on; I made more doing AmeriCorps than it pays (not that I'm complaining, they are paying all my tuition after all). I really miss working with children and education like I was back in Mississippi, so I've been trying to find something part-time with a school district here. This job would be absolutely perfect. I'd be working at McKay Elementary, a small school with lots of community involvement, a wonderful change from the large schools I'm used to working at, where the parents don't give a rat's ass about what their children do at school. I'd be sort of a project coordinator, creating literacy-based and art-based school-wide projects. Fits me fine, as I used to be the Reading is Fundamental coordinator in Hattiesburg, and I was a subsitute art teacher many times. And most importantly, the job fits around my work and class schedules at PSU.

I'll know if I got the job in about 9 days. Much hinges on getting this job. If I land it, I can completely afford to live alone, and I can get rid of my pain in the ass, temporary roommate. He's trying to carve out a niche here, wanting to rearrange furniture, put his name on the lease and shit. Well motherfucker, this is my place, not yours. I'll let him stay till the end of November, and I think letting him stay here for three months, is plenty kind enough. He makes far more than enough to get his own place, if he'd quit blowing so much money on crap.

Wow, long ass entry. Wish me luck on the job.

Oh, anyone know where I can score a 5-gallon glass jug, like the old glass kentwood bottles? As soon as I can find one, I can start making wine again.

***Uhhh, I broke 100 comments tonight! Dig me, dig me. And yes, I am quite hammered, thank you.*****

ugh, moving sucks. I have friends here at school but I still miss my best buddies at home...they're too special to ever be replaced.
