Well the best analogy I have for my weekend was that it was an Oreo cookie. The only good stuff was in the middle. On the trip out we got a late start and didnt roll into town until 3am. Then to top it off the motel didnt have our reservation, our confirmation number was for someone else, and for the most part we were told sorry fuck off by the motel. Thank goodnes for Holiday Inn. They gave us the discounted rate even though we werent technically eligible for it. The class was great, even though it started with a bit of a scare when one of the people there went into a seizure prompting a call for paramedics (he ended up ok at the hospital).
Lex Lang and Sandy Fox (the instructors) were totally cool. They were very warm and engaging and it made the class an absolute blast. We went over orginal animation, video games, walla groups and then the coup de grace anime. I got to record the part of Soushi, from the anime program Fafner. After everyone recorded their parts we got to see playback with all the new actors (including myself). Frikkin awesome. Thats all I can say. That and I know now for sure that is what Im supposed to be doing with myself. And I guess I impressed enough to have them ask if I would be interested in an advanced class. Score!
The trip back kinda sucked though. After a great dinner with my good friends Panda and Sean We started to head back. The original plan was to stay over til Sunday then leave in the morning but when the motel "lost us in the system" that screwed the pooch. So another late start on the road. Add the fact that I wasnt feeling so hot before dinner and had to remove my contacts even though my dumbass forgot my glasses just made for a miserable ride home. We didnt get home til 5am. It shouldnt have been that long. Needless to say me and my sis were totally exhausted by the time we got home. But would I do it again? Fuck yeah I would!!
