My girls left with their father at 5:55 am for their vacation.
They are going to the house on the shore my famly has rented for nearly 25 years.
I cried and stood in the road waving unitl I could no longer see the car or their little faces.
I returned to the strangley quiet apartment and tried to get a few more hours sleep before work but I tossed and turned.
They just called and talked me through the last mile of their trip calling out familiar landmarks to me.
It was very sweet.
My parents were waiting on the deck for them.
I miss them and I miss my vacation, I allow my ex to take them to the house every other year after all it is MY family's rental
I have a vacation of sorts, I guess.
I'm left with every towel in the house in the hamper and I dried off with paper towels this morning.
I will be painting the living room and shampooing the carpeting in my youngest's room which smells like parmesan cheese.
I'll spend some time with Zorba but we're both broke so...
I think I'm feeling a little sorry for myself right now and I'm going to allow it, for the moment.
I'll kick myself in the butt at about 9:30 when I begin teaching and then I'll feel better.
I forgot to mention that tonight is the last night of the show and I HAVE to go to the cast party...36 screaming teen's.
