It was incredibly better than Origins, which really isn't hard. Even though it'd be cool for one company to own all the movie rights to the Marvel universe, Fox did a much better job with this than there last few. IMO*

Whatever anyone else says here, I have my own take: It's a mild effect most of the time, but it sneaks up on you. I think in the right combination (with other foods that don't cancel out the effect) it can be fairly strong. The bonus is that I think it is subtle enough to avoid detection...It might be just enough to push someone from 50% to 51% if it otherwise would be a stalemate over whether someone might come home with you. I would add to the Wikipedia article quote above that anything that boosts amino acids probably can aid in production of hormones. Hormones are made of cholesterol, so fatty foods that have very pure amino acids are not going to hurt if you want to turn someone on. That means if you or your date were already GOING to be horny, then oysters would make you HORNIER. Therefore it might not be exactly a love potion, but more of an accelerant. If anyone is interested in trying it, just remember you can't cook the oysters first. Also, alcohol might spoil the effect a bit. If you don't like the raw oyster taste then use lemon or garlic and butter (like most restaurants do). I don't know many people who don't like butter. The fact is, no food is going to have an obvious aphrodisiac effect because the way it alters your mood is based entirely on your own personal body state before you had the item in question in your system. You will almost certainly not be in exactly the same body state twice. However, I believe that if you were in perfect homeostasis and you were given oysters on a relatively empty stomach, they would give you a push in the direction of getting hornier as long as you were already turned on. It just fuels the fire if the fire is already there. It fans the flames.
