I had a blind date last weekend with a schizophrenic. She was also bi-polar and suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. The experience REALLY shook me up. I've never been up close and personal with someone who claims to hear voices and music. The strange thing is, she tried to cover it up. It took me about 45 minutes to catch on to how extreme her situation was. I felt really sorry for her, but after I made the realization that something was wrong -I had to take off. And even though I really feel cheated that no one warned me about her situation ahead of time - my empathy for her is infinite.
