that's kinda how i felt after the extended weekend.

my zoo feelings are in conflict. some of them depress the hell out of me. seattle's seems nice, a bit more space for the animals than most. but some of the bears still seem anxious to leave, and the jaguar, even in his new enclosure, continues to pace.

we have a new african wild dogs exhibit, which to me seems the worst of all of them. the pack constantly plots and searches for weaknesses.

but, then, some of the smaller animals have such horribly difficult lives in the wild. life is a constant struggle to hide from predators and forage for the meager scraps of food available to them. they seem positively blissful kept fed and allowed to sleep most of their lives away in comfort. the patas monkeys have lots of room, as do the lemurs. they tend not to be animals who roam much in the wild. but, perhaps i'm being niave.

as i said, utterly conflicted.

i wasn't making fun of you, turdburgler! when i think of topanga canyon, i think of barefootedness.

that said, i know nothing about TC.
