I am guessing a hard drive issue....as I get a sad iPod face and there weird noises that sound like grinding and clicking.

Getting anything good along with the system (other than Oblivion).

I was considering that, but hearing how I hear a lot of people saying their's break down a month afterwards kind of frightens me to do that.

While 360 doesn't have the most system seller titles out there, it does have a great selection. I can definitely tell you that Ghost Recon and Call of Duty 2 are great additions. If you can get them cheaper, I would also suggest Kameo and Condemned, both great (but short) games.
