Kee-rist. I did Karaoke.


And apparently some people dug it.



I attempted a Howard Devoto/Magazine version of "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)" since there was no way in hell I could pull off Sly Stone. I think I was on key for the majority of the song, but that's about it...
Anyway, it was quite a fun night, and I was able to meet quite a few new people...Plus I came away from it all with a big kiss from Stasia on my forehead, so no complaints there...


Possibly the best moment came from Hedy, Ophelia, and Stasia doing their collective best Nancy Sinatra impersonations...

Definitely a fine reason to not be so much of a hermit...

oh man. i would kill to see john cale live...i mentioned it to will 'cause he's seen lou reed and moe tucker, so i figured he needs to work on completing the list best he can...

p.s. on the ad in the reader for the double door, it actually says "john cale: from the original velvet underground". jaysus.

actually, cale is the only one of the original non-macleish velvets i haven't seen. sterling morrison was on guitar at the mo tucker show. and it was a double bill with jonathan richman. gig to die for, man.
...and if you do get to manage a derby team, wouldn't it be appropraite to go a bit... SLEAZY?
