Eddie Vedder collaborated with the late Qwwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan (RIP) on The Long Road and The Face of Love for the soundtrack to Dead Man Walking. It's hard for me to put in words how beautiful I think these 2 tracks are and so I let them speak for themselves. Please don't dismiss them if you are not a Pearl Jam fan. Just listen.
These videos features Rahat, Nusrat's nephew who is an amazing talent in his own right.

In 1996 I went to a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan concert in Vancouver at (I think) the Queen Elizabeth theatre. I was seated in the balcony near the back. A couple of rows behind me there was a section of people that sang along with every song. The people in front of them got annoyed. Big guy: "Shut up! I can't hear the concert!" Bigger guy: "No you shut up! If you were a real fan you'd be singing!". I think they started shoving each other. I was trying to ignore them and listen to the music. At some point the cops came in and calmed everyone down. Not what I expected at a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan concert.
