The Journey. My new friend and I went to see Journey to Mecca last night at the IMAX. While it was short and featured some beautiful landscapes of North Africa, it was primarily a short film explaining the Haj or Pilgramage to Mecca that all Muslims must make in their lifetime. However, I think the central theme is that whatever your religion or not, life is a journey and is about the seeking of knowledge. If one ignores the advise of the wise or of trusted friends, life my be hazardous and treacherous. If however, one can decipher truth from lies and take counsel from family, friends and the wise, one will hopefully have a life of exploration and learning.
Prior to seeing the film, I had been driving my friend around town and showing her places she had not seen yet, places only locals would know. We spent agreat deal of the time sharing our stories of travel and adventure; our journeys that had led us to be there, at that time and what we possibly look forward to in the near future.
I used to worry that I wasn't living life to the fullest but recently I've looked back at my life and where I've gone, the things I've done and I've come to the conclusion I have been living life pretty damn well!
Sure, I may not have degrees, I may not have a 6 figure salary, I own virtually nothing save art & music, but I feel. I feel the highs and lows and I know that I am alive. I have an amazing family, I ahve wonderful friends and I live in a beautiful little city by the Sea. I am so fortunate and I wish I could share more of it with more people.
Like my friend.
Past experiences have taught me not to get ahead of myself so I won't. I have learned that no matter the destination, the journey is what is to be enjoyed because when it's over, you can't go back.
Peace and Love,
Sisutl
