How does one start a journal? I've never actually had one before so I'm afraid I'll just have to wing it.
Hmmm. As I sit here staring out my window into the depths of downtown Minneapolis I have to admit that the best part of working night shift is the days off. Getting a chance to be up in the middle of the without having to worry about when I need to be up in the morning is quite relaxing. Plus I get to listen to the night sounds of the town; the buses rattleing by, the planes over head, the screaming of that drunk guy who always misjudges that step. The best part, of course, is the fact that the construction workers have gone home so that I can actually hear something other than their loud, but quite inventive I have to admit, insults. At times like this, that singer really was right. Life is like a river: It's pretty shallow most of the time, you spend a lot of it caught between banks, and eventually you end up dammed.
Oh well, better stuff next time hopefully.
