California was incredible!
Our flight was delayed going out there, but that was about the only thing that went wrong the whole holiday. We explored a lot of San Francisco (I haven't done that much walking in ages!), took lots of photos (which should appear on here once I've re sized them) and enjoyed some gorgeous weather (we had one bad weather day, and then it was just a bit overcast). Our hotel was pretty basic, but we didn't spend that much time there so it didn't really matter. Couldn't find anywhere to get a decent drink from near the hotel either, but that's not the end of the world.
We spent 3 nights in San Francisco (and didn't manage to do everything we wanted to) then headed to Mountain View to visit some of my family. Again, the hotel we stayed in was pretty basic, but it was comfortable (and a lot quieter than the other one). It was great to see my Californian family, as i haven't seen most of them in over 4 years. We spent some time time in Mountain View, enjoying a couple of decent Irish bars, doing some shopping and spending time with my family. We also went back to San Francisco for a day to do the bits we didn't get to do at the beginning of the holiday. We also went to an amazing aquarium in Montgomery ( i got lots of cool pictures of jellyfish!).
Our last full day was spent in the town of Los Gatos with my cousin and his family. We didn't do a lot, though he did take us for a spin in his restored Mercedes 230SL convertible. I'm not a huge fan of Mercedes, but it is a truly gorgeous car and so much fun to ride in! He also took us out for sushi, which i hadn't tried before but really want to try again! I really didn't want to leave, but had to unfortunately. So now I'm back here in the UK planning my next holiday.
