This was me at work on monday
We won the first round in an annual inter-store competition on friday, and on monday we had a visit from the big bosses who were deciding the overall winner. we didn't want to win, because it's a shit-load of hassle that we really didn't need this close to christmas, but unfortunately we did win. So, to make a good impression monday morning myself and all the rest of the staff dressed up as pantomime characters (I'm captain hook in the photo if you can't tell) and acted like idiots for the day. It was surprisingly fun
We even had a horse dressed as a raindeer (though not actually in the store for obvious reasons). Now we just have to wait to see if we've won the big prize (though no one seems sure what the big prize is).
Finally finished my christmas shopping this week! I had a grand total of six pressents to get, and it's taken me about two months to get them. Now i just have to wrap them.
I'm actually starting to feel christmassy now. I always find that working in retail, where we started getting christmas stock in August, destroys the christmas spirit completely, but now that i've got my tree up at home i feel a lot better. Now i'm really looking forward to christmas day (and christmas eve, when i'll be heading up the local with my friends for what i'm sure will be a great evening).

I was down your way fairly recently (couple of weekends ago, I think). While walking from the train station to my parents' house, as I got to the main road of the town, I chanced to see Father Christmas getting a lift from a fire engine!!
Thank you, darling!
