drinking on an empty stomach is never a good idea. 
still, i've had a few pints, lost a few games of pool and fallen for emily the barmaid at the local. she is absolutely gorgeous and i have no chance with her. (i'm not just saying that to get sympathy, just look at the pictures of me and you'll understand why i've no chance.)
but i've had fun with a good friend, there's new songs on the jukebox and the evening is just getting started.

just wanted to edit this to say i'm now a lot merry
i really shouldn't start drinking early, i end up too pissed.
my best friend and his girlfriend are...well things aren't great between them. another friend has just broke up with his girlfriend after nine months of being together, and he's decided to carry on drinking himself to death (he's an alcoholic, but he doesn't want to do anything about it). despite all this, i still had a good night, though i probably wont be saying that when i wake up tomorrow morning.
on an unrelated note, my friends martin and tracey are expecting their second kid today. so hooray to them!
