on thursday i was cutting up some petit fours.... let me back track. petit fours are any type of dessert that can be eaten in at least two bites. the ones we were making were, one layer of almond cake, some buttercream, another layer of almond cake, some peach glaze, marzipan, coated in fondant, and a tempered chocolate ribbon on top (looks like a 1 1/2 in. by 1 1/2 in. christmas present). as i'm cutting the petit fours into 1 1/2 in. squares i accidently cut myself. almost slice the side of my finger off. as is i only cut half way through. this was the first time i have cut myself sense class started three months ago. how wierd that it happened on the last day of the term. anyway i bandage myself up, put on a rubber glove and went back to work. then today, i am helping with a fundraiser. after we pack everything up we head back to school to unload. we get everything out of the van, except the 60 lb. slab of marble we serve desserts on. i get a fellow student to help me get it out of the van. as we are setting it down to clean it i hit my finger (the same one). i continue cleaning up. then i notice that my hand is bleeding. my cut had opened up. that was lame. so i re-bandaged it and went back to work. after that was all done then we got to eat left overs. mmmm.... turkey, mash potatoes, stuffing, ham, and chocolate cake. all in all it was a good night.
