Not that I’m looking to jinx anything but I had my end of year review at work this week and around the discussion of goals throughout the year, it was mentioned by Mike (Deputy Branch Manager) that if the job was advertised today rather than filled by secondment, both he and the Branch Manager would want it to go to me.
Which changes my whole outlook of the thing. It’s one thing to do it for six months, learn what I can, not screw anything up and then go back to my old job with a line drawn under it. It’s quite another to think that the stuff I set in motion will be my projects and aims to carry on with if the job does become mine. It’s quite a lot to think about.
