Not that life has been difficult or anything, just had some unexpected changes. Mostly a sort of promotion. Well…not quite. Better in a way. A secondment to a management position. The difference..well..I can’t get fired if I screw up lol. Just busted back in rank. Not that I’ve screwed up yet. I just have to not get complacent or cocky.
It’s a weird feeling really. Even after two months I still catch sight of myself in the mirror with suit and jacket and all and just think, how did I get here. Seems the somewhat humbling answer is I earned it. I guess long service has its merits. This could be the start of my climb up the ladder. Once this is complete and I have evidence of progress, I can use that to start applying for proper management roles. Interesting times indeed.
