I finally got a job!
a diner near Union Square
I trained this week (PAID training for once!), and didn't want to say anything til I was actually scheduled for shifts..now I am..so yay
I only have 3 shifts next week..only 2 of them are waitressing--, the other one is a "phone" shift--I have to host (greet and seat people) and answer the phones--taking delivery and pick up orders...it's annoying and I only make $9/hr --no tips
I have to do one bar OR phone shift a week...the bar is even worse..hectic and frustrating cos it includes having to make other people's shakes and sundaes while tending to people ordering at the counter AND taking delivery orders if necessary

but anyway it's a job..and hopefully things will be better once I get the hang of the place
I'm really comfortable waiting tables there..it's just the bar/phone shifts I'm concerned with

now I have a lot of catching up to do with money saving and credit card bill paying--remember I had just come back from California when I lost my other job..

I also have to get Bobby something for his birthday, October 1

I have to save at least $200 to get data (all of my pictures, a lot of music, all my documents) recovered from an F Drive that crashed
it sucks and I hope they can get the stuff off of it
but I won't be able to do that for a while
I have some of the older pictures backed up on cds, but I haven't made a backup cd since I graduated college..and that's a lot of pictures..and of course I have some on photobucket and stuff, but it's not the same

I had just moved everything like that onto that drive because my C drive was so full I couldn't defragment my computer...it's so annoying and upsetting.

I'm almost completely caught up on Entourage...I'm now watching season 3 on demand after renting the other 2 seasons

I never watched season 1 or 2 of Rescue Me so I'm almost done with season 1

a mod murder mystery set in nyc in 1964 called "A Mod, Mod, Mod, Mod Murder" haha
I borrowed it from the Queens Library--which sucks..they don't have anything..my library upstate where my mom lives is actually the best library I've ever been to (I've never been to the NY Public Library..so I dunno) but even if I had to get something from another branch, I could get almost anything, and it was quick.

I wanted to borrow Geek Love, but they didn't have it and I had to request it from another branch or something...who knows when I'll see that

so anyway yeah ..the library was about to close and I needed something to read...I saw mod, and mystery, so i just grabbed it
it's not so bad so far, I like quirky mysteries
