I trained today at a restaurant in soho, and I'm training again tomorrow...but I'm not sure this is going to work out because I wont' make enough money at all.
It IS an upscale place, but they pool and split the tips and there are too many people working for such a small place (13 tables) (2 waiters, 1 food runner, 1 bus person). Today was really slow, so each waiter made less than 15 dollars..but I mean even when the last place I worked was really slow..I went home with like 50 or 70, plus my 4.35 an hour.
Apparently lunch shifts do get a shift pay at this new place, but I think it's only like 20 or 30, if that. Plus, the waitress was telling me that even on a good day, I'd only make like 50-60, and night shifts aren't much better.
So yeah..I'm training again tomorrow because if I don't get something else right away..it is some sort of income for now. Though the training isn't paid...so I wont' bring home money until I actually start working.
But yeah I definitely need something else. I do have some other possibilities, but they aren't doing call backs for a couple of weeks.
I need to keep looking
