It took a little time (bearing in mind I wrote the thing back in 2015), but with huge thanks to the wonderful Megan Pritchard (AKA fellow burlesque dancer Flossie Smalls) for her awesome cover design, my steampunk fantasy novel is at last good to go...

************

The vengeful, disfigured Gloriana - rebel fay queen and part-time mad scientist - seeks to free her once-proud people from the oppressive, industrialised nation of Lucinia, to whom they are considered little better than slaves. To this end she has devised weapons that seem to combine modern technology with ancient elven magic, but are freedom and justice her sole concerns, or are her ambitions more grandiose, and deadly? Lucinian "peace envoys" Secretary Kasimir and Delator Maradith are sent to discover the truth ... or to assassinate Gloriana if they can't.

While the rebel queen is alert to the danger of Lucinian treachery, she is also threatened by the plots of her own mercenary allies, and scheming members of her own court seeking to undermine her. Can she play them off against each other for long enough to bring her master plan to fruition? Or is she in fact her own worst enemy?

The direct inspiration for this one was wanting to write something along the lines of "Song of Ice and Fire" / "Game of Thrones" only less stomach-churningly rapey (I enjoy the narrative style and general grittiness of those books, but I was running out of even morbid curiosity by the time the irredeemably disgusting Ironmen were taking centre stage). Knowing me, though will also be a lot of Tolkien and Terry Pratchett in there, and I suspect a touch of "Nausicaa, Valley of the Wind."

Obviously, this is the best I can do for a book launch in these times, so please feel free to share with anyone you might think might care to while away the national house arrest reading about elves, airships, and Aztec mythology ...

All reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, etc. are welcome. xxx

Congrats on being published! I have a lot on my plate right now, since I’m working overtime in addition to working on my own projects, and I have another book I’m proofreading for another writer, but I WILL buy and read your book! 💗
