So I find myself slightly overwhelmed with my vacation
After nearly two years, I'm in New Jersey again, AND i LOVE IT
The issue is though,
I've gotten so used to the same small rural town,
The same intersections,
Same houses,
Same few stores,
Same thing as yesterday,
Status quo straight through
I'm here in an environment where everything is rotating,
And I'm enjoying seeing the places, being with the people, and getting to relax,
but damn
Nothing will match seeing the beach again though.
I began to cry at the sight of the ocean,
it swelling with the natural fury that is the ebb and flow,
The metaphorical equal to our lives,
Step forward,
Fall back.
After 17 years living within a few blocks of a mass of water,
moving to a mostly landlocked town for 2 years was agonizing,
and those tears of joy rolled as Opeth's cover of the classic Alice In Chains song "Would?" played vibrantly from my laptop.
This vacation is a tad overwhelming
