I'll be packing this weekend and moving Monday. Driving up to Lancaster tomorrow to pay for the place and sign the paperwork. I'll be sans internet for a few days...whatever shall I do...I hear reading is good. I have a few guitars that need attention. Though if I'm packing, then opening other stuff up to use is kinda gonna defeat the purpose. Maybe I'll see movies or something.

I realized today that for the last 8 years I've been working my ass off for other people because I felt like I didn't have a choice. I didn't finish school and I always thought that I was stuck carving a life out of hard work that benefits someone else. No mas, amigos. I have been checking out the Unemployment Department's job search website, and it seems that Home Depot is in need of managers. They'd be absolutely foolish not to hire me. But I'd be an even bigger fool to apply. I saw a quote once that I'll paraphrase here-- Successful businesses all started with a courageous decision. I used to say at work that the path to greatness begins with one single step. Time for me to take that step.

I mentioned needing a pilgrimage of some kind, but that isn't quite right. I need adventure. Things like starting an internet radio show that discusses the foolishness of our state government, or randomly interviewing strangers under the guise of a local television show in order to get them to say things they would never admit. Then putting those interviews on the show...maybe I'm on to something here.

In any case, I feel like my eyes are open wider and my mind is working better than it has since I worked for Parks and Recreation in Palmdale all those years ago, back when I was starving on minimum wage. Financial stability is a dark foggy mask, my friends. It tends to hide who you really are.
