Being nice and helpful are both wonderful qualities and I wouldn't want someone like that to change for anything. All I would recommend is that you just keep a mental scorecard of the times when you REALLY go out of your way to help someone. If they are constantly take take taking and never giving back then maybe you shouldn't bend over backwards for them.
