so i finally finished my personal statement and got it in just under the wire. yay for me. i nearly had a heart attack when i found out it might be late, though. yikes.

my little brother got kicked out of college for failing two semesters in a row and he might come out for a while this summer to get away from my crazy parents.

waxangel is the biggest sweetie ever. really.

tonight nicolelee and fleur get to make me drinks.

i can't believe jason got his cellphone back. and that he's being cute and embarrassing me on the boardzz to make me feel better.

I'm not going to get heavy on the science because morphic resonance has been covered (both pro / con) by people who understand it far better than I do at this point. Morphic resonance bears a lot of similarity to Plato's idea of Absolute Form as well as Jung's Collective Unconscious - somewhere outside of spacetime, there are memory fields corresponding to both form and behavior. Sheldrake's theory posits that the dominant mechanist/reductionist philosophy of hard science is wrong - virtually heresy these days. To borrow one of his metaphors, it is as if we took apart and reassembled a radio, and came to the conclusion that the music is originating from the device and overlooked that it is also dependent on carrier wave transmissions.

s5 convinced me to read it last year. I hedged for a while but finally bought it. It's worth reading.
