S&M Motto: Safe, Sane and Consensual!
This is a motto our govt. could learn a fuck-lot from. (I am rather pissed so FUCK will be my chosen word, throughout this rant).
Some of my favorite SG pictures are blacked out due to the Attorney Generals crusade for decency. Some may think this isn't a BIG deal, but fear not. Censorship will not end here(just like it didn't begin here).
I guess there is something perverted about women chosing to represent themselves sexually. We need big-daddy to show us how to be sexy and sexual. We need him to tell us when we made an oopsy and need a time out. We need him to tell us what we can and cannot see. Thanks big-daddy!!! My mind feels less polluted,already.
I understand cracking down on child pornography and other kinds of dehumanizing and unconcentual porn. BUT, cracking down on photos of concenting adults????? Cracking down on pictures depicting women reclaiming their space through erotic art?
70's: Meese Commission: Gov't finds that porn is not, infact, evil---in and of itself. "Legalizing it goes hand in hand with an ideology that identifies sexual freedom with expanded sexual choice and celebrates erotisism as a sphere of pleasure and play(Steven Seidman, Embattled Eros, 58)."
There are more intelligent conversations we can have about sex and sexuality or porn and erotica. Shutting off the conversation and dabbling in censorship is un-intelligent and condecending---not to mention dangerous. Feminists learned this in the 80's when they worked with their representatives to censor porn. What they found was much of their own pamphlets, books, and art had been considered indecent.
As a woman and as a queer woman I do not trust the govt. to make decisions about my sex life. Those sexphobe nasties need to get their fingers out of my cooter. Ridding the world of T&A will not get rid of bombs and corrupt govt. Ridding the world of women who have actuall say in how they are represented(as subjects not objects) will not rid the world of the objectification (and anti-erotic) images of women in media or the motherfication (my new word) of them in govt. I want those pics back!
Fuck them...I hope they don't start censoring my unlady-like potty mouth. Afterall, it may contribute to the decline of their un-civilization.
