So my employer scheduled me to work every day the week of christmas and after without first asking the other guards if they wanted any extra days. I am not happy by this because this puts it at near 11 consecutive days of work without knowing if I get any days off after or during (if any) and geting paid less than 8 an hour to boot. This is unsual and my days have always been unusual roughtly 3 days on 3 days off 4 days on 4 days off. If you were to chart that on a calendar that puts it at 14 days of work in a month, compared to 19 days to a person who works full time with 5 days on 2 days off. Not that I want to work full time persay just not have funky schedule like that..
Now this schedule of 3 on 3 off and so on pushes back my time frame of moving out and the amount of money flow I want to achieve to move out at an extra 90 days or so GROSS or 100 plus days NET that approx. puts the date to move out in march where as if I would of worked like a normal person about late january to early feb.
I've come up with what I think to be a solid amount to move out on remember 3 days on 3 days off 4 days on 4 days off type schedule to achieve this.
2 months pay: 1000
2 months rent: 1000
1 month food: 100
1 month util 100
security dep: 300
That puts my goal at a total net cash of 2500 to be safe.
Is this all worth it? I am working this job so I can raise money to move, I don't plan on using it on my resume. I don't plan on putting it on any applications. I don't plan on using my boss or any of my coworkers as references. Is this hastle worth it? I am not learning any skills at all. This job provides no greater understanding of anything than what a poorly managed near bankrupt company operates like. It is not morally redeaming. It has no social value. No socialness at all, I work alone. Would I just be better applying to jobs now in other cities without having lived there? How do I achieve this with out a resume mind you this job I have currently is my first job ever in essence making it a McJob
In other news I need a vacation can I borrow some money....? ;-)
