Sprint PCS sucks! Get another cell provider! Anyway, I was trading in my old phone for another one, and a guy in the parking lot gave me a pass for the movie version of Rent. This was last night. It was actually pretty well done, well lensed, with a pretty good cast, including Rosario Dawson. It was full of cliches, as you might expect. The idea that for every occasion, even funerals, everyone spontaneously bursts into song, is a bit silly. But past that it was ok. I give it 7 or 8 out of 10. One of the main characters is a drag queen, and the movie does not make fun of him/her. That is a rare thing. Straights, gays, lesbians, all pretty much treated the same. Not a bunch of condesention. Maybe two of the songs were actually good, and for the rest, once in awhile, a bit of harmony or phrasing or something really worked. Go see it if you like that sort of thing.
