This weekend went by so quickly. I guess. I don't know. It just feels that way.
Friday night I was pretty lame and stayed in. I caught up on some net tv and and some web work. After finally passing out at like 3am I slept for 10 hours. No dreams. Just a lot of tossing and turning. This is mostly a bummer because I like to dream - minus the falling dreams.
Saturday I was productive. After waking up I started painting my room and finally finished it. I'd been putting off this feat for some time as I always seem to find a distraction. Not Saturday though - I brought my A game. Saturday night I went out for Brazilian/South American food at this place called Esparanto in the East Village. It was excellent. I ate the Pollo de la Casa and had a few Negra Modelos.

After that I headed back to Brooklyn and meet up some friends for a couple games of pool. Nothing eventful happened and by that I mean I lost both games. Lame. We all finally ended up at this bar called Stain in East Williamsburg/Bushwich neighborhood for some cheap drinks. They have a really nice patio area out back and we ended up being treated to a group of people playing with fire and hula-hoops. I met some new friends that night and overall I had a good time and some good conversations. Next, there was sleep.

Sunday morning came into this world wearing dark shades of gray and bringing with it buckets of rain. After being lazy and enjoying my Sunday morning watching movies and reading I ventured out to my friend Lauren's place in RAMBO. That's right, RAMBO. I know the name is really not that funny but it made me laugh for awhile. For non/new-New Yorkers RAMBO is an accronym for "Right After the Manhattan Bridge Overpass." It's very close to DUMBO(Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) if that helps. It probably doesn't.

The purpose of my visit was to help Lauren complete a few projects that she's been wanting to get done. She had a armoire that need to be fixed, pictures to hang, a rather large mirror to hang, and several planting containers that needed to be filled. After realizing that she had no wood glue we both took a stroll into DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. The weather was shit but the walk was actually amazing. We ended up on the Promenade in Brooklyn Heights and had an amazing view of the Financial District and the Statue of Liberty. I kind of liked the rain to be honest. I feel like it helped to keep the masses indoors and away from our walk.

After that we hit up the local market and grabbed some salad and aspergus raviolli to cook for dinner. The food was awesome and I'm lucky to have Lauren as friend/cook. After dinner we hung out a bit more and listed to records. Actually, it was me playing really random tracks while she tried to guess who performed/sang it. Kinda fun. I put on some random Dead Milkmen, Erasure, Stone Roses, and At The Drive-In. She killed it and I wasn't that original. :insert sad face:
All in all a decent weekend to put on the books.
