My 29th birthday is tomorrow, so I figure getting healthy and thinking good thoughts about the future are about the best gifts I can give myself. So I bought a gym membership at the YMCA yesterday for my daughters and I. They are signed up for swimming lessions, and I need to hit the cardo equipment in the gym.

My 29th birthday is in like 10 days, hopefully I'll have a much more healthy and active lifestyle by my 30th b'day. I'm feeling old and its time for some change.

Less time online, at work, and infront of the TV;
More eating home cooked meals, more evening/weekend activities with my kids and wife, and going to a gym regularly.

So you turn 29 on the 29th? Wow, it is your luck year. I doubt you have heard of it. I am not sure where the idea orginates from (my mom told me about it) but the year that you turn the same age as the date of your birth is considered a year of great change. It is called a luck year...though it is not always lucky things that happen they all change you and effect you profoundly.

My luck year was the year I started my masters program, the year I moved in with my boyfriend, the year I started having panic attacks, the year I learned I had out grown my allergies and the year I really found out who my friends were. All those events changed me for the better, even my panic attacks.

For my mom it happened when she was 8. It was the year my Grandpa got diagonsed with heart diesease and high blood pressure. The whole family changed their diet and the kids had to play quietly while he rested. Mom learned to sew, knit, embroider and developed a love of crafts and making things by hand because she wanted to find quiet things to do that would not bother her dad. Which really shaped who she became.

So I hope that your luck year is a good one and that you learn as much about yourself as I did when I had mine.

Well its Saturday and I went and spoiled my little girls again today.

- Breakfast at McDonald
- Bought them each a WebKinz
- Bought the youngest an adorable Fairy costume (the oldest didn't want one)
- Bought them a pet hamster
- Supper at a restaurant they like

Why oh why and I such a sucker for them.

The family cat died yesterday, and I made me remember just how much I HATE it when girls cry. My four year old daughter seems fairly indifferent, but the I would have bought my 10 year old old the moon if it would have made her stop crying. I'm such a loser.

My wife and oldest daughter's cat has been ill for the last week or so (no energy, losing weight) so it went to the my aunt's vet clinic today and they are keeping it for observation until monday to see if they can get it to eat and see if it gets any better.
