'allo lovlies. pb intermission is over.

i'll not be going to Iraq this deployment cycle (Jan-May). the news came down from up on high this morning.

although i really wanted to go, i'm feeling strangely relieved. maybe it has something to do with the guessing-game they had me playing with the whole situation up until an hour or so ago. maybe i'm happy because several people close to me are smiling right now, which perhaps includes even one or two i haven't even met in person yet.

just returned home last night from TX. always good to see the fam. visit was way too short. luggage still hasn't made it home, though. the airlines need to get their shit together.

i haven't written in so long. the lexicon is dusty and i can't seem to put words together as readily as before. need practice.

also, any of you DCers planning something for new years, let me know. i'm open as most of my crew are still out of town.
