Here are some of the better holocaust books I have read.

Auschwitz and After by Charlotte Delbo. - reeeeeeally good. About a woman, tough tough read.

Mause I
Mause II by Art Spiegelman - a two book comic series about the holocaust. Not cheesy. A really new interesting way to read about nit.

Speak You Also - Paul Steinbeck

The Shawl - Cynthis Ozick

That should get you started if you haven't read those already.

I was a creative writing major in college, but I took a lot of classes (enough for a minor, if it was available) in Holacaust lit and violent in lit. Such an interesting thing to study, but after ready books about death and violence for months on end, it really started to fuck with my dreams and overall mood.
