Im currently performing a sit-in protest in my hotel room.
I have to check-out today but my flight isnt until about 2000, so Im milking the comfy-ness of bes and being lazy for as long as I can instead of hanging around Cape Town with my bags until I check-in for my flight.
Its been pretty awesome here for the last week, and the UK feels ages away, even though Ill be back there in just two days
Yesterday was a chilled day, I just went to the Two Oceans Aquarium because they let you get in and dive the shark tank. Pretty cool!
It was only one dive, but there are 3 Nurse Sharks in there, along with loads of StingRays Giant Turtles and shit loads of other fish that I dont know the names of and cant be assed hunting Google for pictures of!
It was cool, because when you are in there, all the visitors to the aquarium are looking in and waving, there was a school trip there at the time and all the little kids were getting excited, bless.
One of the aquarium staff come in with you, carrying a stick to poke the sharks if they try to bite you, but Nurse sharks are pretty tame and chilled out, they just look evil. I got one of the workers to take some pics of me in there from the other side of the glass, Ill get them uploaded when Im back in Jo'burg. Maybe. The net connection there is even worse than here!
Oh and I got a shark tooth when I was down there, I found it on the bottom, so that was cool too.
Then, when I got back to the hotel, I went to get some food, and took my mac with me, I cant just sit there by myself and do nothing, so I either surf the interwebs or try and do some work for my site, either way I try to look cool and show off my shiny mac. So anyway, I got hit on. seriously hit on. This girl came over and was asking about the dive pictures I was sorting out on the mac, just the normal kinda stuff. People always tend to just come up and start talking to you when youre in a chair, so I didnt think anything off it.
But as I left to go back to my room, reception handed me a message. She had actually left a message for me at reception! That was cool, even though Im leaving today and it dosent matter, its a huge ego boost. Plus there were loads of people checking in at the time, so I felt like a shark-diving/mac-wielding/lady-woeing super hero. or something. haha
Now I have to get my ass outta bed, pack and work out what Im going to do for the rest of the day.
Ill sort out pics from my varied shark exploits soon. maybe.
