We really need to get over the notion that some artists are great because they are drunks, and think more along the lines that some artists are great despite being drunks.

I tried that once, I was a vegan through highschool which meant that if I ran out of food at lunch time the only recourse I had was air... or the bark of the trees. Which my friend K did contemplate once... smile

Some people can pick sports winners, others can pick stocks, and I sure there are others who can pick Nobel Prize winners.
I, however, enjoy picking Oscar winners.
Here are my predictions about who will win and who I'd like to see win at the 78th Oscars:

Performance by an actor in a leading role:
Who I think will win - Philip Seymour Hoffman in...

""Good night and good luck", what George Clooney says at the end of all his dates."-Jon Stewart...pretty fucking funny line...suprised Clooney beat Giamatti out for best supporting from what clips I have seen of the films

Sad to say, "Squid and the Whale" and "Murderball" were the only films out of those that I have seen all year...I have not heard all that much about Crash but was looking forward to checking it and many more of those out.

i promise i will make it up there one of these days...thanks for the invite and bring yourself on down here anytime
kriss:
well DAMN we could not go and show you EVERYTHING that happened...

HELLO, what kind of mystery would be there if we did that!

Rabbits.

It hard to believe that March is already here.

If the old adage about March is true, in like a lamb, out like a lion, or vice-versa, then, after the day we had today, I fear what's in store for the end of the month.

I finally got my home computer back up and working; Bad hard drive. I got a new 200 GB...

In orchestra in middle/high school we watched Amadeus every year, at least once. Anytime we had a sub, or there was nothing to do, or we were *supposed* to be taking a final exam, we watched Amadeus.

It's an excellent movie, surprisingly factual, entertaining, and emotional - but I've seen it so much. Good suggestion, though.

So you know when you're at the bar, or restaurant, and there is this really loud, obnoxious, completely plastered group of people at the table beside you, who are making out in the booths, snapping pictures, hoping and hollering, and generally acting drunk and disorderly.
Yeah?
I was at that table last night.

Although I wasn't participating in said activities, it was funny, but also...

FUCK! I HATE COMPUTERS!

I don't have time to retype my damn journal entry so I'll hit the basic points:

  • Busy

  • Lighting design due next Sunday

  • Procrastinating

  • No groceries

  • Fiery furnaces - Disappointing

  • Detroit Cobras and The Reigning Sound - Rocking

  • Of Montreal - Fun, no earthquake this time

  • The Tempest - Coming soon

  • Hamlet auditions - sooner

  • I have no chance

  • Fingers crossed though....

If I have to sit through one more lousy production of the Vagina Monologues I think I'm going to queef.

Yes I get it! Vagina's are beautiful! We should all worship them! That's why I'm here. However there is just so many times I can hear "my vagina smells like a snowflake" or "It would wear combat boots" or hear about the 20 different types...

I have never seen the Vagina Monologues, but somebody in my Newswriting class did a story on it and the professor was reading bits of it out loud, trying to help her, and it was amusing.

The forecasters were talking snow for a week. They said this huge troth of low pressure coming off the Gulf of Mexico would plow into this artic cold front moving in from Canada and bury us in fluffy whiteness. It was supposed to snow From Midnight Friday until late afternoon Sunday. I actually had my hopes up, sure they were wrong before, but this storm...

Because of the huge number of comments on my latest set... You are receiving this comment late and it is the same comment that I am leaving everyone else as well. I usually try to thank everyone individually and much more personal like, but I would just never in a million years have the time to do that this time. So, I just want you to know that I appreciate that you took the time to comment on my new set. It was very wonderful of you, and I'm sorry that my return comment is so impersonal. However, if you want to stop by my page and say hello sometime, leave me an email, whatnot I'd love to chat. I am nice to everyone that is nice to me.

So, thank you very very much for your nice comment on my set! It is appreciated.

Happy late Valentines Day! kiss biggrin

It snowed this morning. Totally unexpected. It was only like two inches, it didn't even stick on the roads. It hardly even affected me. Looked pretty though. By noon it had mostly melted away. I'm tired of these slinky-rinky-dink snows. I WANT IT TO DUMP! I'm talking an ass deep, no going anywhere, starving to death, nawing your leg off to survive kind of snow....
