I've come to realize that jealousy isn't about another person, it's about yourself. The real root of jealousy is insecurity. This insecurity, whether it be about our looks, our endowments, or our abilities, manifests itself as the "green-eyed monster" jealousy whenever we perceive someone excels us in any way. Instead of finding fault in ourselves we project the fault onto others. So it might be said, just as another person can't make you sad, you can only make yourself sad, another person can't make you jealous, you can only make yourself jealous. Furthermore if you are secure about yourself you have no cause for jealousy.
I am working on this.
Would you rather be good at something and nobody knows it, or bad at something and nobody tells you.

Yes, totally.
I would rather be good at something and have no one know. It would be my little secret.
