It's the last weekend for Matt & Ben. It went by fast, of course we put it up in like four weeks. The show has really gotten good. The actresses are experimenting with the parts and keeping it fresh every performance. The audiences seem to like it. Last night we only had about 25 people which was good for the weather being nasty. I've already had many calls about tonights show. I feel both nights are going to sell out. That's not a big feat though because the theater only seats 50. In my opinion, it should have sold out every performance, but Asheville audiences like to procrastinate. I'm afraid we are going to have to turn people away, which is lame because if they would have come one any previous night they could have seen the show, and I want as many people to see the show as possible. We will see.
I thought I'd post some performance pictures.
This is Ben chugging a bottle of apple juice "in one motherfuckin' sip!"
This is Matt singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water" for his high school talent show. Ben accompanies on the drum.
Matt and Ben read a scene from Good Will Hunting. Matt play will, Ben plays Skylar.
Matt is scared by the script for Good Will Hunting
There are more production photos here.
In other news: Wednesday I saw an amazing play called Topdog/Underdog. It was performed by Highland Rep a professional theater group in Asheville. It's the 2002 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Drama. The writing is incredible. It's about two brothers, Lincoln and Booth, who are both street hustlers of some sorts. It's definitely a powerful play. Honestly I would recommend that people if people want an evening of moving theater, they see this play instead of mine, not that mine is bad, but this one is magnificent. Mine is kind of entertaining fluff.
Also I got a sassy new haircut, but since I live with on foot in the analog age, I don't have pictures to post yet. Soon.
Finally, a great playwright has passed away. Arthur Miller
Willy. I made the last payment on the house today. Today, dear. And there'll be nobody home.
