So it's Mardi Gras and I didn't even know it.

Ok I'm lame, I forgot to party.

So now it's Lent.
This year I think I'm giving up abstinence, sobriety, and religion.

When I was in New York I one day I kept seeing all these people walking around with all this schmutz on their foreheads. I spent all day wondering what the fuck was going on. So I asked my roommate what was the deal and he said, "You moron, It's Ash Wednesday, they've been to church!"
You see here in the Baptist stronghold of the Bible Belt we don't see them kind of high falutin' customs too often. We're simple god fearing folk who like our rituals simple, and our atonement easy.
