Matt & Ben opened last night. It was the best show we've done so far. The actresses had good energy, seemed really relaxed and looked like they were having fun. I think the five people who saw it really enjoyed it.
Yeah only five people showed up. It was rather disappointing. Our BIG opening night. Yeah. On the bright side it can only go uphill from here. Also there were a lot of other things happening last night, plus the weather was foreboding. Yeah, that's it blame it on the weather, yeah.
We had some good press from the Citizen-Times and the Mountain Xpress, so I'm hoping that will increase attendance. On Wed. night we had a preview or our final dress rehearsal, that's when the reviewer from the Citizen-Times saw it. The performance that night wasn't as good as the one opening night. The actresses seemed a bit nervous and missed some lines or rushed through them. Also we had some technical difficulties. The sound wasn't right and a door in the back of the set kept opening by itself. Anyway I don't think the reviewer really enjoyed the show because in the article he talks more about how weird the show is rather than the acting or direction. Well any press is good press. Right?
