So Debbie Does Dallas is officially DOA. Everything fell apart this weekend. Half of the actors I already CAST decided they wanted to do other things. Some felt uncomfortable with the play, which I can see, but despite the subject matter it's really not that revealing. Others were hoping to get a role in other shows auditioning at the same time. That is some real nerve. I didn't have many people audition in the first place, so after those people jumped ship I figured it was better just to let the show die than to struggle with it for six weeks. Maybe we'll do it someday, it really is a funny play, but for now I've got to come up with some kind of show my remaining cast can do. I really feel like locking myself in a dark room for the rest of the winter.

awww, shitty! I know you were really looking forward to pulling this off. At least it's crumbling in the early stages instead of way down the line. This just means there is something bettter out there just waiting for you.
