Here we are at the end of another year. The end of a decade in fact. How did that happen? It's true what my parents say, It all goes by so fast. I spent New Year's 2000 in Asheville working at the Grove Park Inn. Here it is ten years later, and I'm still here, but in a far different place than back then. Still it all seems like a blink of the eye. This has been the most productive decade of my life by far, but I really don't feel much further ahead than when it began.

This year has been a notable year: I lost my father, I had more theater projects than ever, developed new relationships, I saw many good shows, including the Beastie Boys in my hometown, we elected a President I actually respect, and finally traveled to Mexico. I was the slackest I've ever been about keeping a blog, but most or the major stuff can be found in my previous posts.

By the way, as promised, here are some photos from Mexico:





This is Mrida, Yucatn, Mexico where I spent most of the time. It's a very lovely city. Because of it's location It has a more of a European influence than a Mexican one. No skyscrapers, lots of old buildings, narrow streets, numerous cafe's and shops, and very walkable.






These are the Mayan ruins at Uxmal. I spent a day touring five ancient Mayan archeological sites. Uxmal was the biggest and most impressive. Most of the structures were built around 1000 AD.

I have no plans for tonight. I'm just going to see where it takes me. If I don't leave the house it's okay. The best part about having a lousy New Years is that it can only go up from there.
