Here is what Congress should do with that $34 Billion rescue plan for the automotive industry. Give 2,125,000 Americans over the age of 16 a $16,000 incentive to buy a new American car, (perhaps more for say a hybrid, or fuel-efficient car) effectively cutting the price of a new car in half. A 2 million unit surge in auto sales could help keep jobs in the country, revitalize the auto industry, and perhaps allow me to finally afford to buy a new car.
