Only a week left of my tour! It's been pretty enjoyable. This has been an easy tour though, not too many shows, and not too long away from home. I got to see the El Greco to Velazquez exhibit in Durham. I recommend it to anybody in the area. I've had the weekend off but now I have to get up at 5am and drive to York SC for a show tomorrow. I'll leave you with some tidbits I've gleaned from the road:

Trust no internet directions. They're good for the most part, but pay attention or you'll certainly get lost. Also if they have you going through the middle of Washington DC, try to find an alternate route.

I've found there is a bell curve when it comes to free ammenities in relation to price of hotels. The lower end ones of course have none, the higher end ones have them but you have to pay extra for them, the middle maximizes your amenity offerings. The best hotel so far in relation to amenities has been the Dury Inn in Greensboro. Not only do you get free hot and cold breakfast, but you also get two drinks during happy hour, and free popcorn at night. Pretty sweet. The rooms also had a ridiculously large flat screen TV.

Chapel Hill is crazy place to be after a game. I made the mistake of going to Chapel Hill on the day of a home football game. It was awash in a sea of sky blue, and filled with yells of hysterical fans. Every restaurant was packed and the bars were filled withe knuckleheads. It was a scary place.

You can always find a NPR Station.

You will almost always pass a cheaper gas station. The cheaper the gas however the more expensive the snacks.

You will catch your partners cold.

You will forget something.

Cook Out has some damn good shakes.

No hotel bed can ever match your own.
