So I went and did something stupid, I upgraded my computer to Vista. It's taken me all wee to get things sorted out. I still don't think it's working quite right. I wouldn't bother with it unless you're getting a new PC.
I'm about to begin directing a new production. It's a play called Kimberly Akimbo. It is a real cute script written by David Lindsey-Abaire who won the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in drama for another one of his plays Rabbit Hole. The play is about a teenage girl who has a rare condition that makes her age for times as fast as normal. The role is played by an actor in her 60's or 70's. Her aunt is trying to get her involved in this check cashing scheme because she looks so old, and she has to deal with her deadbeat dad, and hypochondriac mother. She also develops a crush on this geeky kid who works at a burger joint and plays D&D. It's a bittersweet script along the lines of Juno, or Little Miss Sunshine. We began auditions today and have more tomorrow. Rehearsals will begin at the end of the month and the show goes up in April. I'm going to be pretty busy the next couple of months. Come to think about it I guess that's pretty normal.
As if directing a show isn't enough I have a couple lighting designs and one small acting gig coming up to help push me over the edge into complete insanity.
