Is everything better battered and deep fried?
I worked the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival over the weekend. It's a showcase of experimental art, dance, film, and performance in Asheville. I saw some interesting stuff.
One of the funniest pieces I saw was my friend Shawn Oldham's performance art piece. (Sorry for the crappy quality of the images, they were off my camera phone.)
He started off with a bunch of inflated pink pigs on a tablecloth. He was dressed as a chef.
He had like 15 bottles of barbecue sauce which he began "basting" the plastic pigs with.

After applying a nice coat of barbecue sauce to the pigs, he proceeded to drink the barbecue sauce.
After downing about four bottles of barbecue sauce, it soon became too much for his body to handle so he started to gag from it.
After finishing off one more bottle of BBQ sauce, he proceeded to vomit the contents of his stomach all over the pigs.
I'm not sure if it was art, but it sure was funny. If the intention of art is to provoke a reaction from the viewer, this piece was definitely art, because he did manage to provoke a couple of viewers to vomit themselves.
