So I just got back from seeing Broken Social Scene at the Orange Peel. What an awesome show! They are one of those bands that sound better live than they do on their albums. They played for like an hour and a half, and did pretty much all the songs I wanted to hear and some new ones too. They also didn't do an encore, which I respect. I personally find encores egotistical. Like, oooh, if we clap enough they'll play their big hit for us. I think bands should just play all their songs and get it over with because that's what we're there for, but I digress. They seemed to be truly grateful to be there, and seemed to have fun, which makes a good show in my opinion. They're definitely on my favorites list.
Otherwise I'm really tired of all these political ads. I can't wait for this election to be over. The ads they have out are nothing but a bunch of whining and name calling. I don't care if your hasn't paid his taxes if 100 years or if he supports clubbing baby seals for that matter, just get to your position already. Also this election I just feel I'm voting for the lesser of two evils. On one hand we have Charles Taylor a corrupt millionaire businessman, who is a dictionary definition Republican hiding his evil behind a bunch of "family values," and "homeland security" rhetoric. Then we have Heath Schuler. A former football player, turned Democratic poster boy. As much as I despise Charles Taylor, I just don't know how much Heath Schuler knows about politics. Also his stance on certain issues such as abortion (he's basically pro-life), the environment (he doesn't seem to care), and immigration reform (he supports sending them back and building that dumb wall) that really makes him seem more like a Republican who is against the war. God I hope there is a third candidate on the ballot. (Even though I know they won't win) I don't want to vote for either of them!
