I've been house sitting for some friends. Actually it's not the house I really have to watch, it's their dog. So I should say I've been dog sitting. Some people say that dogs are more intelligent than cats, which might be true, but why is it we worry about dogs more. I mean when you go out of town, you can leave a cat unattended for a while. As long as they have food they can usually fend for themselves. Someone might have to check on it once in a while, and clean the litter box or something, but you don't have to stay with a cat. Dogs however need much more attention. You have to let them outside, let them in, feed them, walk them, and make sure they stay off the couch, even though I'm sure they still get on the couch when you're away. Dogs need a considerable amount of more attention than cats. This particular dog, Merle is his name, is really neurotic. He has to be taken for a walk every day or he'll actually whine for hours. Walking him is not so bad, except he's part hound, so he has to sniff and piss on every bush he passes. A walk around the block takes almost an hour. He's also a bed hog. My friends have a king size bed (something I'd like to talk about later) and he'll sprawl out right in the friggin' middle of it. He won't move either. If you do move him he'll grumble and push up as close as he can to you. He has to sleep with you or else he'll whine and bark the entire night. I learned this my first night when I got maybe about an hour at most of interrupted sleep. He's real needy. He has to be petted constantly. He'll also bark and growl for seemingly no reason. It freaked me out at first, now however I just say "Merle shut the fuck up!" and he usually does. He's kind of an endearing dog though when he isn't annoying the shit out of you.
In between attending the dog I haven't been doing much of anything. In true hypocritical fashion, I watched the entire first season of "Lost" on DVD. They don't have cable so it was mostly all the entertainment I had. Question; is everyone on that show, with a few exceptions, just hot as hell. I want to be on that plane when it crashes. I've been sporadically on SG. I feel creepy looking at a porn site on someone else's computer. Not that SG is really that bad, but you never know what somebody else might think. I never type the address directly in, but link to it from my webmail, or MySpace. I feel super sneaky. I just need to clear the temporary folder of any images that might be in there.
Well it's my final day as a dog chaperon, and I've got a pile of dirty dishes I have to attend to. I'll be more responsive later.

One of my cats thinks he's a dog most of the time. He plays fetch and makes me carry him around the house and pet him 24/7. In general though, I prefer cats over dogs because dogs require much more attention then I have the time to give without quitting my job, haha.
