Summer is slipping away quickly now. It makes me sad. I love the summer. Mostly because of various childhood memories of summer fun and freedom. Recently however my summers haven't been too free. Between doing two Shakespeare shows every summer and working pretty much full time, summer sometimes falls by the wayside. I'm glad I did get to go on the camping trip this year. I would like to have one other big road trip before summer officially ends, but I don't see it happening. My free time is growing more and more scarce. I'm practically booked until Thanksgiving. I'll be touring with BellaLuna Theatre for Children again this year. It's a group that tours to schools and does plays about issues such as bullying, harassment, and violence. I worked with them last year. it's not glamorous, but it's a nice paycheck, and I can say I'm a professional actor at least for some time. On top of that I may be directing The Mystery Plays by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa for ACT, and I'm supposed to stage manage for Birth which a friend of mine is directing, plus a few lighting designs thrown in for good measure. So my days are filling up as the nights start to get longer. It's Bele Chere time in Asheville and that always signals the beginning of the end of summer, coupled with my birthday which is soon, so summer indeed is waning. I probably won't even be able to go to Bele Chere because I have Hamlet all weekend, and I have to work tomorrow until 4 which leaves little time to go downtown. Even though I've grown to dislike the festival, it is a good time to see people and take pictures. Oh well I'll survive. Well I'm off to Denmark. There's something rotten there, I have to help set it right.
