Next week I am once again at Asheville Community Theater designing lights for Santaland Diaries by one of my favorite writers; David Sedaris. It's a really funny show.
I never really intended on being a lighting designer. I've just kind of fallen into it. I took classes in it at UNCA, and did a couple of designs for various groups, and now I've been doing almost one a month. Im less picky about the shows I design than the shows I audition for. I enjoy designing, and it pays more often than acting does, although my last two shows were pro-bono, but I really want to get back to acting. I auditioned for One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest a week ago. I got a call-back but I didnt get a part. Whimper. Now there are really no good acting prospects until summer. Sigh.
Well Ive got to go write a cue sheet. Bah Humbug.
